Check out this video clip of Grupo Cativeiro Capoeira Jamaica (GCCJ), the only capoeira group (as far we know) currently training on the island. Operating out of Kingston, GCCJ is lead by Contra-Mestre Simpson under the supervision of Mestre Miguel Machado.
CM Simpson, a student of Mestre Paulo Sorriso, arrived on the island in 2004 with the goal of sharing capoeira with inner city youth. Since then, five additional capoeiristas from Grupo Capoeira Cativeiro – Amazonas/Brazil have joined CM Simpson’s team of teachers to help spread the knowledge and popularity of Capoeira in Jamaica.

CM Simpson and members of GCCJ will be travelling from Kingston to Discovery Bay to give their axé at DESTINATION JAMAICA. Register today and join them. Don’t delay, spaces are going fast.
You have LESS THAN ONE MONTH to register for Destination Jamaica. Don’t waste time, register today!
